These little flower clips and headbands are so popular right now.
They are all over blogland and everywhere in the stores.
I was at Target and I saw a really cute headband with a black flower on it.
I picked it up, inspected it and thought to myself -
"I can make that!"
And so I did!

And so I did!
First: I gathered my supplies. You will need:
- Ribbon
- Felt
- Thread
- brads
- Clips
Second: Cut two feet of ribbon.
Third: Stitch a baste stitch all the way down one side of the ribbon.
Third: Stitch a baste stitch all the way down one side of the ribbon.
Fifth: Cut a circle -the size you want your flower-
out of the felt.
out of the felt.
Sixth: Pin your ribbon onto the outside of the circle.
Seventh: Stitch the first layer on.
Tenth: Hot glue a brad or some sort of "bling" to the middle.
Eleventh: Cover your clip with ribbon.
You can see how to do that here.

Twelfth: Hot glue the clip to the back.

Then Enjoy!
You can either clip it right into your hair...
You can either clip it right into your hair...
Or clip it to the headband you are wearing for the day...
Or you can glue it directly to a headband and skip the whole clip thing.
I like mine on the clips because then I can change out my headbands and still have the cute flower!

I can't wait to make a few more!

love the headband! HOw much would you charge me if I had you make me some? I don't think I could do that one, but I would love a black one and a pink one! And where did you get the band to hook it to?
I want some made for me as well. How much would you charge?
I really need a sewing machine so you can teach me all these fun things, but in the mean time, HONESTLY???? How much would you charge me? LOL
Can't wait to make these, I just bought a bag full of vintage ribbons! Thanks so much!
Do you HAVE to sew the ribbon first? I don't have a sewing machine. Not sure if you are sewing it for looks or is there a purpose.
Little Lexi - I stitched at first so I could gather the ribbon to make a ruffle - but if you don't have a sewing machine, then as you hot glue, overlap your ribbon every little bit to create a ruffled look. Does that make sense?
Have fun!

I'm gonna be busy with these! My daughter LOVES stuff like this. Thanks so much!
You don't have to make it ruffle with just a sewing machine, you can do it by hand. I did it both ways and actually had better luck hand sewing it. That sounds tedious, but was very simple and only took a little bit longer.
Also, instead of hot gluing "bling" in the middle I sewed on some buttons.
So cute!! I found you through Make it Sparkly Mama. I saw it, and ran to get my sewing machine out! I was already making some ribbon headbands, and just needed a little flower or something on top. A ribbon flower is perfect :).
