Mason Jar Halloween Lanterns and a $50 Giveaway (#5)

Mason Jar Halloween Lanterns

Hello! Have you been waiting for this tutorial and giveaway? I have been trying to get it up on my blog ALL DAY LONG! Things just sometimes get c.r.a.z.y when you’re a mom/wife/person!

YES! There is a giveaway for $25 to Expressions Vinyl and the Ribbon Retreat – $50 worth of crafting supplies! Just scroll to the bottom to find out how to enter to win!!

Anyway – I am loving these super cute little Halloween lanterns I made from Mason Jars – wanna make your own too? They are so super easy – Here is what you need:

- Mason Jars
- 22 gauge wire
- Vinyl
- Clear Matte Spray Paint
- Ribbon
- Candles

how to spray paint your mason jars

First: Take your lids off.

Second: Take your wire and loop it around the top of your jar and make your handle. There are a few different ways to do it – I just make a little “J” at the end of the wire and and hook them together – simply cut off the extra.

Halloween Laterns 3

Third: Cut out your vinyl and using it like stickers – stick your vinyl on your jars. I used my Silhouette to cut out a few different Halloween shapes – but you can use whatever you have.

Halloween Laterns 4

Fourth: Apply a few coats of clear matte spray paint. I put the wire around the jar first – because then you won’t scrape any of the paint off while you are trying to get the wire on.

Here is the jar all painted – I did a close up of the hooked wire so you can get a better shot at what it looks like.

Fifth: Peel off all your vinyl. Be a little bit careful that you don’t scratch the paint off. A little bit might peel off – but its not a big deal. no worries!

Halloween Laterns 2

Sixth: Tie in your super cute ribbon to the sides. I did four different ribbons and tied them on in different ways to make each jar a little bit different.

Add your candles and your done!

I took my outside and hung them on some garden hooks I have. I love the way they look – so cute!
